08,02,2000, Veggie Safari

Well first I'll tell you why we went on a veggie safari, you see Bonnie's Dad runs a factory that does dehydrated foods and because there hasn't been much in the way of rain in Njoro since December there was a bit of a shortage of vegetables, so hence veggie safari, the hunt for veggie's. Well we went on the veggie safari at about 11am, we went in a pickup. Bonn's Dad driving, a local lad called Simon, who worked for Bonn's Dad, he sat up front, with myself, Bonn, Nic and Jo in the back. It was a really nice day so it wasn't a problem going in a pickup. At about 12pm we got to a place called Elburgen and met another local called Njoroge. We went into a pub called Casanova and had a few drinks. After that we set off with Njoroge up front and Simon now in the back with us. We went about 5k down the road and turned off on to a dirt track. Well the dust went everywhere, just see the pics in this section to see what I mean. We went down this track for about an hour and a half, stopping here and there, we also picked up some more passengers. Eventually we finally came to the end of the track and found what we wanted, veggies, so then we had to go all the way back. We got back to Elburgon and went back into Casanova's had some more drinks and we had some Nyma Choma (goat) with chips and cabbage. We got back home at about 6pm, had a major wash and then had fish and chips for tea. We did nothing else that night as we were all to tired.
